Today, members of the East Franklin Fire Department, headed up to Union, NJ to be with family and friends of Kevin Apuzzio. The day’s events started with a memorial mass at St Michael's church in Union. From there the Apuzzio family extended their amazing hospitality and invited everyone back to their house for breakfast. After being stuffed by the wonderful spread, everyone headed over to the cemetery to visit Kevin’s grave.
It is important on days like today to remember hero’s like Kevin, who have given the ultimate sacrifice. It has been six years, but the loss of Kevin is still heavy in our hearts. Through friends and family we keep the memory of Kevin alive. Every day we hope to be as brave and strong as Kevin was that faithful day. We know he is looking down upon us, keeping us save every day we roll out on another call.
The members of the East Franklin Fire Department would like to extend a special thanks to the Apuzzio family for always treating us like family. It truly is amazing how through tragedy we have formed lifelong friendships. It was great getting to spend time with them, laugh, and have a good time sharing stories of Kevin.
We miss you brother. May you continue to Rest In Peace.
