380 Hamilton Street Structure Fire

On Thursday, April 7th at 10:09 PM, Fire District 3 was dispatched to the area of 380 Hamilton Street for a report of smoke outside and alarms sounding. E-272 was first due Car 273 arrived and requested a first alarm. Ladder 25 arrived and the crew from E-272 started to stretch a line while the crew from L-25 was forcing the door.

Once the door was opened, Capt. Marotta reported heavy smoke and high heat conditions. Command requested a second alarm to the scene. While searching the fire apartment, the crew from E-272 located a fire in the kitchen consisting of boxes and the cabinets. While the crew from L-25 was searching the apartment, they located an unconcsious male in the living room. The crew removed the victim and started to provide First Aid until EMS arrived on scene. E-253 provided a water supply to E-272. Car 27 was operations and Car 272 was logistics.

Rescue 56 was RIC on scene, as well as Mutual Aid from NBFD E-1 and L-1.

The fire was quickly brought under control and turned over to the fire inspectors from Franklin Township. Other companies on scene were Finderne and Middlebush FD. Units on standby at Station 27 were Bound Brook Squad 23, and North Brunswick Tower 209. Other units on scene were Car 274, Car 25, Car 252, E-27 and U-27.
