On Sunday, August 27th, 2023 at approximately 1623 hrs., East Franklin Fire Department was dispatched to standby in the City of New Brunswick at Engine Co.5 for a 2nd alarm Structure Fire in the area of 317 Seaman Street.
While Car 27 and Eng 272, with a crew of 6 were enroute they were told to divert to the fire scene which involved both structures at 317 and 319 Seaman Street.
Engine 272 dropped a 700 foot 5-inch supply line and pumped to NBFD Ladder 1. The crew of Engine 272 worked with the city Firefighters in fire suppression operations.
Due to extensive fireground operations, crews rotated out twice, with other members standing by in the station.
Units were on scene for approximately 4.5 hrs. A total of 25 firefighters responded to the Station for the incident and to cover Fire District #3. Thank you for all those who gave their free time to assist in this incident.
