At 11:47 AM on Thursday, February 29th, Fire District 3 was dispatched to 48 Ambrose Street for the possible house fire. Car 27 arrived two minutes later and confirmed a working house fire and called for a second alarm.

Engine 253 and Engine 272 arrived and a hand line was pulled off E-253 to start the extinguishment of the fire in the attic. New Brunswick Eng-1 & Ladder 1 arrived and assisted with fire control and primary search of the fire building. Ladder 27 arrived and pulled a second hand line into the house. Ladder 25 arrived and the crew assisted with throwing ladders and fire containment on the back of the house from the rear and side yard.

Additional crews from Squad 27, Utility 27 and North Brunswick #3 as well as Squad 23 assisted in overhaul and ventilation. Car 25 was Operations and Rescue 56 and Car 56-2 was the RIC team. The fire was under control in 45 minutes and units cleared the scene at 2:10 pm.
