Kossuth Street Structure Fire

At approximately 12:50 pm today, Fire District 3 was dispatched for a house fire at 85 Kossuth Street. Car 27 arrived on scene and reported smoke and fire showing from the front of the house on the 1st floor. Upon exiting his car, Chief 27 found a resident unconscious on the sidewalk covered in soot and bleeding from the face A 1st Alarm was transmitted and a rush on ALS & BLS to the scene was requested. Engine 253 arrived on scene as first due and along with A/C 25 took a hand line in through the back door to extinguish the fire. Car 25 arrived and took over operations on the fire ground. Ladder 25 arrived and split their crew to search the floor above and take a second hand line inside the back door. Ladder 27 arrived and assisted Ladder 25’s crew with search and ventilation of the fire building. The fire was quickly brought under control and held to the first floor. The crew from Rescue 56 stood by as the RIC team. The fire is currently under investigation by Franklin Twp Fire Prevention Bureau. The latest information on the victim’s condition is that they are critical in a local hospital. Other units on scene were Car 272, Car 252, Rescue 25, NBFD E-1, NBFD -L1 . Units on stand by were Stations 23 & 26, who were covering Fire District 3.
