Overturned Tractor Trailer with ejection in the parking lot of 50 Veronica Avenue

On Monday, October 23rd, 2023 at approximately 2302 hrs. Fire District #3 was dispatched to the area of 50 Veronica Ave for the overturned tractor trailer with possible entrapment.

Car 27 arrived and established Command, reporting to incoming units of an overturned yard switcher and trailer. Rescue 25 arrived and raised a ladder to the overturned trailer, in order to reach the driver laying on their back. The crew from R-25 and EMTs from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital packaged the injured person. Ladder 25 was setup to remove the injured party from the trailer.

The crew from Squad 27 worked on containing the fluids that were leaking from the truck. Hazmat 26 from Elizabeth Avenue FD was requested for assistance with containment. After the victim was removed, units were on scene another 90 minutes to standby for the tow companies removal of the vehicle.
