On Monday evening at 7:58 PM Fire District 3 was requested to the area of 17 Home Street for a reported fire in a abandoned building. While responding Car 27 reported a header from New Brunswick. Car 25 arrived on scene and reported a fire in the rear yard. Eng 253, Car 27 and Eng 27 all arrived together and Eng 253 hit the hydrant on the way in. The crews from 253 & Eng 27 pulled lines off and started to attack the fire. Ladder 27 arrived and the crew pulled a third line into the alley to protect the exposure building. Crews from Ladder 25 and Eng-272 assisted in removing the doors and opening up the building. Chief 27 was operations, Deputy 27 was on the Charlie side of the building. Other District units on scene were Rescue 25, Car 274 & Utility 27. Rescue 56 was the RIC. Mutual Aid from the first alarm was Station 44, 26, Truck 3 on scene and R-30 Car-30 and Sq-23 who covered Station 27 for us.
